Thank you all for attending the SEPAGov meeting last month.
Attatched, you will find slides from the Emma presentation by Joe Fazekas.
Our quarterly meeting has been moved back a week to Friday, April 23rd and will still be held at the Chester County Government Services Center. The primary topic of discussion will be Email Newsletter/Notification Tools Presentations: Vertical Response (Sue Morris and Linda Southcott, Chester County) and Constant Contact / Emma (Joe Fazekas, DVRPC). Meeting starts at 10 am. Lunch (on your own) will follow at: Courtyard Inn Restaurant, 929 South High St, West Chester, PA 19382 (In the Parkway Shopping CTR, Just south of the GSC off of Rt. 202).
The March 2nd Net Tuesday Philly Meetup will take place at 6:00 PM at the law offices of Buchanan, Ingersoll & Rooney (on the 32nd floor of 2 Liberty Place, 50 S. 16th Street) in Philadelphia.
Social tools (including Facebook, Twitter, GIS/mapping applications, mobile technology, image and video sharing services) are being used in ways that are creative, widely participative and, often, surprisingly effective – ushering in a new type of crisis response virtually unavailable just a decade ago. For discussion – this phenomenon and how it might be relevant to you today.
DVRPC has launched a new web site for Mercer County NJ residents and bicyclists, to help them plan bicycle-friendly routes to ride. The site will also help planners identify priority bicycle corridors and facilities to be considered in the future. We are looking for stakeholders’ ideas on priority bicycle routes, and their opinions on the routes submitted by others. We also welcome any knowledge they have about the bikeability ratings shown: are they too high, too low, or do they not reflect a specific local issue? Proposed routes and comments will be accepted until Friday, March 12th.
The next quarterly #DVRPC Information Resources Exchange Group meeting will be held on Wednesday, March 3rd and will feature presentations from NJ DEP on how they manage their spatial data holdings and distribution, and from SEPTA on the agency’s new website.http://bit.ly/bgtElp
The remaining meetings for 2010 are scheduled for: April 16th, July 16 & October 15, 2010. All meetings are scheduled to be held at the Chester County Government Services Center at 601 Westtown RD, West Chester PA 19380.
Thank you to all who attended our January 15th meeting, and to our presenter, Carol A. Spencer (Web Manager, County of Morris NJ) for her thorough presentation on social media.
